Obituary of Glenda Merrill
Glenda C. Merrill, 80 years, of Campbell, NY passed away on Thursday October 25, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on May 16, 1938 in Campbell, NY, the daughter of the late Clifford and Winifred (Taft) Dobson. She was a graduate of Painted Post High School class of 1955. She was employed by Cunnings Stationary Store in Corning for over 20 years.
Glenda will be remembered for her love of flowers and working in her flower beds and watching Nascar, specifically Dale Earnhardt. She was an avid bowler - participating in many leagues and attended numerous championships throughout the country. She was also a board member on the Women's International Bowling Conference (WIBC). She was a wonderful cook - hosting many Sunday dinners that included her delicious pies and homemade rolls. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She had a love for children - especially her grandchildren and great grandchilren and was their number one fan at their many sporting events.
She is survived by her loving husband, John F. Merrill; children: Anthony (Tina) Pastore, Michael (Michele) Pastore, Mary (Bert) Park, Steven (Jenett) Pastore; grandchildren: Matt (Michele) Park, Meagan (Jerry) Park, Jennifer (David) Maddock, Michael Pastore, Kristin (Brad) Parker, Chelsea Pastore, Andrew (Darlene) Pastore, Eric Pastore, Dillon Pastore, Tiffany (Jonathan) Thomas; great grandchildren: Halie, Noah, Ethan, Saige, Faith, Liam, Kali, Kaylee and Ethan; siblings: Carl (Eva) Dobson, Nancy (Bill) Congdon, Karen Dobson and Brian Dobson; and many niences and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Glenda was predeceased by her son, Andrew C. Pastore, Jr.; granddaughter, Ariel Pastore; and siblings: Sally Dobson, Neil Dobson and Olin Dobson.
Friends and family are invited to call on Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, NY. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 3:00 pm, Pastor Ted Brennan officiating. Burial will take place in the family plot in Hope Cemetery of Campbell at the convenience of the family.
