Obituary of Marcia Ketchum

Marcia K. “Marcy” Ketchum, age 65, of Painted Post, NY passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Corning Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Marcy was born on September 4, 1952 in Corning, NY, the daughter of the late Milton R. and the late Doris E. (Ward) Cole.  She was a graduate of Campbell High School, class of 1971. She married Larry J. Ketchum on May 22, 2010 in Watkins Glen, NY. She was employed by American Food and Vending, and worked as a baker in the Corning Community College cafeteria.  

Marcy will be remembered for her passion and love for animals. She was caring, fun loving and always there for anyone in need. Her greatest joy came from family – cherishing every moment she could. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Larry J. Ketchum; sisters: Gladys (Richard) Crooker of Savona, NY and Jane (Roland) French of Savona, NY; brother, Wayne "Butch" (Deanna) Cole of Cameron, NY; step-children: Jason Ketchum of Painted Post, NY, Zachary Ketchum of Caton, NY, Malissa (Eric) Rosekrans of Lowman, NY; special nieces: Pamela (Mark) Failing of Savona, NY, Karen Warner of Addison, NY; special nephew, Alan (Dolores) Crooker of Savona, NY; brothers-in-law: James (Terri) Ketchum of Sumter, SC, Robert (Karen) Ketchum of Wells, NY; sister-in-law, Lori-Anne Ketchum of Watkins Glen, NY; special cousin, Dorothy Eldred of Caton, NY; and many other nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marcy was predeceased by her sister, Beverly Cole-Reed.

Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, November 25, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Caton Bible Chapel, 11297 Old County Road, Corning, NY. A memorial service will immediately follow at the church at 4:00 pm, Revs. James and Robert Ketchum officiating. Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, NY has been entrusted with the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Marcy’s name may be made to your local SPCA.
