Obituary of Jane Plummer

Jane C. Plummer passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 13, 2017 after a feisty struggle with the aging process.

After graduating from De Sales Roman Catholic High School in Walla Walla, Washington in 1940, she studied at Walla Walla Business College. Costello, a Corning, New York native who partnered in a successful local law practice with his father, the late Attorney W. Earle Costello. After Julian's death in 1971, she worked for several years as an administrative assistant for the United Way of Corning. Jane was married to William A. Plummer, a now retired research scientist for Corning Incorporated, in 1978.

Her family and her many friends will remember Jane for her love of entertaining and good food, playing bridge and other card games, music, dancing, reading and watching old movies. She and Bill were also world travelers, visiting 24 countries and many areas of the US during their nearly 40 years together. Jane is known as well for her volunteer work, which began as a young homemaker when she sewed puppets for juvenile Corning Hospital patients, and continued on into her later years, when she volunteered at the Rockwell-Corning Museum and as a tax counselor for the elderly.
