Obituary of Dewey Webster

Dewey F. Webster, age 94, formerly of Campbell, NY passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 in Palm Bay, FL.

Dewey was born on May 18, 1923 in Mansfield, PA, the second son of the late Myron and the late Jennie (Dewey) Webster. He served in the United State Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1946. He married Florence Winifred Macorkel on August 12, 1950 in Wilkes Barre, PA; she predeceased him in 2013.

He was employed as a teacher for Campbell Central School, retiring with 34 years of service. During his time with Campbell Central, he taught high school math and science courses, and served for a time as an assistant principal in charge of bookkeeping for the school district. He was a member of the North Baptist Church in Corning, NY, as well as the Lions Club and the Gideons International. He enjoyed reading, traveling, and golf.

He is survived by; Barry, his son, of West Melbourne, FL, and Pawinee, his daughter-in-law, also of West Melbourne, FL.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, February 19, 2018 from 10:00 to 12:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, NY. A funeral service will be held at the North Baptist Church, 127 Sly Avenue at 12:30 PM, Pastor Earl Whittaker officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the family plot in Chapel Knoll Cemetery, Painted Post, NY.
