Obituary of Marjorie Parker

Marjorie Ruth Parker, age 90, of Painted Post, NY passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at home. Marjorie was born November 14, 1926 in Troupsburg, NY to Adelbert M. and Annabel G. (Gleason) Potter. She married Leonard H. Parker on June 30, 1950. She was predeceased by him on January 6, 1986.

Marjorie was a talented musician who shared her passion with others. She enjoyed playing all types of games, was an avid reader, and had mastered crossword puzzles. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and quick wit; she especially enjoyed April Fool's Day.

She was a lifelong member of the Order of the Eastern Star and received her 50 year certificate in 2000.

She is survived by four children: Penelope Parker O'Sullivan, Bethany (Kevin) Berry, Suzanne (Jeffrey Karpenko) Webster, Lance Michael Parker; six grandchildren: Chad Berry, Courtney (James Layton) Berry, Parker O'Sullivan, Kinley O'Sullivan, MacKenzie ( Michael Watters) Webster, Nathaniel Webster; great grandson: Myles Layto

A special thank you to her attentive caregivers, Tina, Julie, Sara, and Jennifer, who enabled her to stay in her familiar surroundings.

Along with her husband she was predeceased by five brothers and one sister.

Memorial donations in her honor can be directed to Christ Episcopal Church, 33 East 1st Street, Corning, NY 14830.

A private family service will be held at the convenience of the family. Marjorie will be laid to rest alongside her husband in Oakwood Cemetery, in Mansfield, PA.
