Obituary of Alberta Colegrove
Alberta Jean Colegrove, age 88, of Painted Post, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017 at home. She was born on April 23, 1929 in Corning, the daughter of Norman and Mary (Bovaird) Horton.
Alberta was a hard worker all her life both at work and at home. She enjoyed raising her children and she cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Alberta's motto was "Everyone Needs Love" and she went out of her way to make sure she loved everyone. She enjoyed watching the hummingbirds and deer in her backyard. Alberta retired from Corning, Inc in 1986 following 40 years of service.
She is survived by her son, Timothy (Fidelita Novo) Colegrove of Beaver Dams, step children, Russell Rider of Painted Post, Donald Rider of Coopers Plains, Linda (Jim) Cramer of Penn Yan and Kelly Wire of Iowa, sisters, Joan (Pete) Vanderbush of Michigan, Grace Caslin of Painted Post, and Sylvia Reed of Painted Post, brothers, Roland Horton of Vestal and Steve Horton of Savona, fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Alberta was predeceased by her companion, Rusty Rider, and her children, Roger Colegrove, Diane Colegrove, and Pam Clarkson.
Alberta's celebration of life gathering will take place at a time to be announced. Burial will be at Coopers Plains Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
