Friday, March 24, 2017I will miss my WBD visits to see Dorothy at Keuka Lake. She was always happy for visitors, and so enjoyed her lake home, with so many celebrations and family and friends in and out. She lives so many years at the lake, after her agile fisherman husband predeceased her, and was fortunate in the last years of her life to have had winters down south with Marilyn and family, and summers with Karen, with Susan and Marilyn both coming north to also help at the lake. I will never forget her smile, listening to her play the organ, and all of her stories of growing up, and her married life. She was such a wonderful gardener, and treasured her flowers and her home. What a long life she had. I think of all the amazing inventions and events that she watched happen since her birth in 1909--indoor plumbing and heat, refrigerators, the automobile, radio, television, telephones, airplanes, the space program and moon landings, to name a few....WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam and our current conflicts; all the presidents she has lived to see, and the elections she had voted in. She mainly loved being a wife, mother and grandmother- cherishing her family as they did her. Now she can reunite with Stub, Donnie and her parents, and be at peace in her eternal home with Jesus. God Bless!

Friday, March 24, 2017My sympathy to the family. The death of a loved one is the most devastating experience a family can face. At times, the loss may seem unbearable, but know that there are those who care, and more importantly, God cares. Psalm 34:18 tells us that God "is close to the brokenhearted." He "is the God of all comfort". (2 Corinthians 1:3,4)

Thursday, March 23, 2017My prayers are with all who are grieving the loss of this precious woman. I pray that all the wonderful memories of her will get you through this sad process. I do not know Karen personally just through Facebook. It feels as if I do know the family through her beautiful posts and how close everyone is. May God give you the strength and comfort that are needed at this time. I send love and hugs.
