Elsie May Micheli

Elsie M. (Pearman) Micheli, left this world on Saturday, March 10, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in South Hampton, England on March 12, 1925 to James W. and Beatrice Golden Pearman. She came to the U.S. in 1947 aboard the ocean liner Queen Elizabeth.

She had many jobs over the years, but is most fondly remembered for her years at the J&J Restaurant where she was well known for her famous meatballs and pizza.

She was a devoted catholic and was a member of All Saint's Parish at St. Vincent Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by the love of her life, Anthony (Tony) Micheli; her oldest sister, Kathleen Seethe; brother, James Pearman, Jr.; and her son-in-law, William (Bill) Miller.

She is survived by her six children; sons: John (Nancy) Marshall of Montgomery, AL, James W. Marshall of Montour Falls, NY; daughters: Barbara Miller of Painted Post, NY, Jennifer Thompson of Painted Post, NY, Kerry (Greg) McIlwain of Hornby, NY and Angela Wilson of Corning, NY who has been her primary caregiver for the last two years. She is also survived by three step-children: David (Carol) Micheli of Churchville, NY, Debra (Bill) Hallett of Byron, NY, Dawn (Bill) Stratton of Tennessee; former daughter-in-law, Carol Marshall of Savona, NY; sisters: Frances (the late Alfred) Hounsome, Margaret (the late Frank) Shotter, Ida (William) Barnes; and brother, John (Jean) Pearman, all of England; brother and sister-in-law, Lou and Rose (Micheli) Ferraro; sisters-in-law: Joanne Bond and Joyce Roddy all of Rochester. She has 18 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves behind her best friends, Lonnie and Verra Bennett of Hornby; and her loyal companion Chloe.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 1:00 pm, Father John Forni officiating. Burial will take place in the family plot in Chapel Knoll Cemetery, Painted Post, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Elsie's name may be made to All Saint's Parish, 222 Dodge Ave., Corning, NY 14830 or to an animal shelter of your choice.
