Maynard J. "Bud" Hendley, age 91, of Painted Post, NY passed peacefully away on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving children. Maynard was born July 27, 1926 in Addison, NY to Maynard H. and Helen (Wescott) Hendley. He married Imogene Schoener on October 3, 1948.
Maynard was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army. He retired from the Ingersoll Rand in 1988. On his retirement date he and his wife climbed in their motorhome and headed across country. Over the years they traveled to every state, but Alaska and Oklahoma. They were Florida snowbirds for 26 years. They had many wonderful friends.
He is survived by his daughter: Darlene (Lewis) Luther Sr. of Las Vegas, NV; sons: James "Chip" (Rhonda) W. Hendley, and Ken Hendley aka "Cone Head"; grandchildren: Michelle, Becky Jo, Timothy, Carl, Dawn, Melissa, Marnie, Mary Jo, Travis, Heather and Kailei; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Maynard was predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years, Imogene (Schoener) Hendley and their son, Raymond "Tim" Hendley.
There will be no formal services. Burial will be at Addison Rural Cemetery. Maynard's family has entrusted his care to Phillips Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Corning.
