Walter E. Iddings passed away peacefully while at the Palliative Care Unit at Strong Memorial Hospital on Jan. 28, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Walter is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia Iddings. He was predeceased by his father Walter Iddings and mother Edith Cooley.
Walt served in the Army during WWII. He worked at the Corning Foodmart for 40 years and was well known in the area as a produce manager. He enjoyed spending time with his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and was blessed with the opportunity to be a great, great grandfather. Walt enjoyed family time, reading, camping, putting puzzles together, and was an avid fan of the N.Y. Yankees and Giants.
He was survived by his children Bruce (Carol), Gary (Vickie), Debra, Patti (John), Charles (Kathy), JoAnn (Lance), Walt (Bettsi), and Linda (Tim). His grandchildren are Erica (Josh), Sean (Samantha), Bret, Brenda, Krista, Andrea, Suzette, Jeremy, Sara (Aaron).
There will be a private viewing and grave-side service for the immediate family. A celebration of Walter's life for all friends and family will be held at Grace Lee Memorial Wesleyan church in Beaver Valley on Wednesday at 1:30pm. Pastor Don Nagy will be officiating the service and Walt's niece Donna Hilton will provide a message.
