Jason R. Kiphut, age 35 of Painted Post, NY passed away on January 8, 2018 at Williamsport Regional Medical Center after a lifelong battle with many health issues. He was born on March 30, 1982 to Robert and Peggy (Tuttle) Kiphut in Ithaca, NY. His positive attitude, smile and gentle nature will be dearly missed by those who knew him.
He is survived by his loving parents, his grandmother Rose Kiphut and Uncle Richard Kiphut, both of Auburn, NY, his beloved Aunt Rosanne (Kiphut) Fox and Uncle Larry Fox in Savona, NY, cousins Dusty Fox and Stacy (Fox) Nadjadi and their families. On the Tuttle family side, Jason is survived by his Uncle Jeffrey and Aunt Kathy Tuttle in Mahopac, NY as well as his cousins Patrick Tuttle and Lindsay Tuttle-Ying and their families.
Jason called many places home during his life. Born in Ithaca, his family moved to Auburn, NY soon afterwards. The family relocated to Elmira briefly before moving to their permanent home in Painted Post by the time he was six years old. Jason attended school in the Corning - Painted Post school district and graduated from West High School in 2003. He was gifted with artistic ability and studied graphics design at Boces while in high school. After graduating high school, Jason continued to live in Painted Post until 2015 when he had to move to the Williamsport, PA area for specialized medical care.
Early in life Jason developed a love of nature and the outdoors. He liked animals of all types, and had pets for most of his life. He enjoyed wilderness camping and fishing.
Jason really enjoyed travel despite his physical challenges. He was able to visit a good part of the East Coast from Maine to Florida, the West coast, the American Southwest, Hawaii and Mexico.
