Biography

Paul R. Scott, age 72, of 3888 State Rt. 414, Corning died Friday, July 30, 2010, at Corning Hospital shortly after arrival. Paul was born in Corning on March 11, 1938, the son of the late Hiram and Hazel (Horton) Scott. He married Marian Davis on September 6, 1957, in Corning, She survives him.

Scotty attended school in Corning at Northside and retired from Corning Community College in 2000 where he had worked as a Painter-Locksmith for over twenty years. He had served in the National Guard from 1960 to 1966. Scotty enjoyed riding his motorcycle, working on his cars, and collecting railroad lanterns. He loved to spend time with his grand kids and enjoyed camping many years ago. He and Marian were members of the Campbell United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife Marian; one daughter, Rhonda (Joseph) Willig of Erwin, NY; one son, Randall (Iva Marie) Scott of Hornby, NY; two sisters: Gertrude (John Thomas) Sherwood of Coopers Plains, NY, and Louise Scott of Erwin, NY; two brothers: Arthur Scott of Addison, NY, and Jack Scott of Corning, NY; grandsons: Randall Scott, Jr., Christopher Scott, Joshua (Jessie) Scott all of Corning, NY, and Matthew Willig of Erwin, NY; granddaughters: Torrie Scott of Corning, NY, and Hillary Willig of Erwin, NY; step granddaughter, Jessica Jimerson of Nashville, TN; step grandson, Brent Jimerson of Lexington, KY; and eight great grandchildren. Paul was predeceased by four sisters and one brother.

Friends are invited to a memorial service Friday, August 6th at 2:00pm at the Campbell United Methodist Church with the Rev. Alan Jones officiating. Burial will be at Coopers Plains Cemetery in Coopers Plains, NY.
