Biography

Beverly Jean Morton, age 63, of Gray Lane in Painted Post, NY, died peacefully Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira surrounded by her family and friends.

Beverly was born in Corning on October 23, 1946, to Dean and Mary (Costley) Shepard. She married Donald Morton, Jr., in 1965 in East Campbell. She had been a bus driver for the Corning - Painted Post School District for a short while in the middle of being a wife and mother. Beverly enjoyed gardening, watching wildlife, and traveling to numerous destinations with her husband. She loved the outdoors and spending time with her family, friends, and her dog Belle.

She is survived by her husband Don; daughter, Corrina Morton of Corning; son, Jeffrey (Cassandra Grady) Morton of Watertown, MA; sister, Patricia (Rob) Magde of Palmyra, NY; two brothers, Dean (Aurora) Shepard of Addison and Brian Shepard of Nashville, TN; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and special friend, Toni Fratarcangelo.

A Memorial Celebration of her life will be held at the convenience of the family at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Corning. Burial will be in Central Valley Cemetery in Hornby, NY.
